Managing Context Uncertainty in Smart Pervasive Environments

چکیده
Advances in smart devices, mobile wireless communications, sensor networks, pervasive computing, machine learning, middleware and agent technologies, and human computer interfaces have made the dream of smart pervasive environments a reality. According to Cook and Das (Cook & Das, 2004), a “smart environment” is one that is able to autonomously acquire and apply knowledge about its users (or inhabitants) and their surroundings, and adapt to the users’ behavior or preferences with the ultimate goal to improve their experience in that environment. The type of experience that individuals expect from an environment varies with the individual and the type of environment ABStrAct

Agent-Based Context Consistency Management in Smart Space Environments
Context-aware systems in a smart space environment must be aware of the surrounding contexts and adapt to changing contexts in highly dynamic environments. Data managements of contextual information are different from traditional approaches because of the contextual information are dynamic, transient, and fallible. Consequently, capabilities to detect context inconsistency and maintain consiste...
متن کاملA context-sensitive dynamic role-based access control model for pervasive computing environments
Resources and services are accessible in pervasive computing environments from anywhere and at any time. Also, due to ever-changing nature of such environments, the identity of users is unknown. However, users must be able to access the required resources based on their contexts. These and other similar complexities necessitate dynamic and context-aware access control models for such environmen...
متن کاملContext Management and Semantic Modelling for Ambient Intelligence
Ambient Intelligence aims at pushing forward a user centric vision of Pervasive Computing, where the environment better serves our need. This paper describes our current work on modelling and managing context information for smart environments.
متن کاملA semantic-aware role-based access control model for pervasive computing environments
Access control in open and dynamic Pervasive Computing Environments (PCEs) is a very complex mechanism and encompasses various new requirements. In fact, in such environments, context information should be used in access control decision process; however, it is not applicable to gather all context information completely and accurately all the time. Thus, a suitable access control model for PCEs...
متن کاملModeling an Ontology for Managing Contexts in Smart Meeting Space
In recent years, computing becomes more mobile and pervasive; these changes imply that applications and services must be aware of and adapt to their changing contexts in highly dynamic environments. To allow interoperability in a context-aware computing environment (e.g. smart meeting space), it is necessary that the context terminology will be commonly understood by all the connected entities ...
